One of the things I would like accomplished before Sweet Pea arrives is for Augie to learn how to dress himself, or at least be more helpful in the process. It's been like dressing a 43-pound rag doll. So this morning--after he'd had one of those poops that puts you in an awesome mood--I told him to pick out his clothes (which he's never had any interest in doing), and he bounded over and picked a pair of shorts, and out of nowhere started to put them on. He needed help with the closure, but he got his legs in the right holes and pulled them up. Then I explained what "matching" was, and asked him to find a shirt that matched, and he did! I helped him into it, but more as a spotter so he wouldn't get frustrated; this time he was actually actively participating, with intention. Then he went for shoes, and he picked a pair of black sandals that didn't match, so I said, "Those don't match as well as some others....I'd suggest either the brown ones or the blue ones." To which he responded, "I suggest these (the black ones)," and proceeded to help put them on.
