Chapter End

Dinner. First night in Myrtle Beach. Hotel restaurant. Augie had eaten generic sour patch kids on the plane. How many? Let's call it a lot. His tummy is hurting. He has to make poo.

We bought a $17 potty at Target on our way from the airport to the hotel because he has only pooped in his potty at home and we didn't want to bring it. He has always refused to poop on the toilet even though he knows he gets Blue Mac (The King's trailer from the Cars movie) if he does. We wanted to see if we could get him to use the toilet here, but wanted the backup potty in case he freaked about it (no emotional scars, please).

So at the restaurant, I took him to the bathroom, and had him sit on the regular adult human toilet. The auto-flush goes off and he jumps down, startled. Accuses me of treason ("You flushed it! You flushed it!") and wants to wait until we get back to NY to poop. I convince him to try again, and he does it! So potty training is officially over. Unfortunately, Blue Mac is at home in New York, but we were happy to stop at the hotel gift shop after dinner.

The Final Potty Toy. With detachable surf board.
