Reading

Three interesting things reading books tonight:

1) Augie's starting to be able to add in a rudimentary way. He asked to read 3 books and as we picked them out, he knew that we had picked out x books and needed 3-x more. He used his fingers as he worked through this.

2) He has been asking "who's it by" for each book and then "who drew the pictures?"

3) Twice tonight he asked what a word in the story meant. In Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, he asked what "cavity" meant (Alexander was the only one with a cavity at the dentist). Which was a great segue into a lesson on the importance of brushing your teeth. Sucker!
